Solar keyboards are nice, but those stray photons aren’t going to do much for your gaming performance. For that you need to add a decent mouse to the mix, and Logitech has just the thing for you: the new Gaming Mouse G300.
Underneath the slick, sculpted exterior of the G300 you’ll find a 2500 DPI optical sensor capable of a USB-maxing 1 millisecond report rate for stutter-free control. Its symmetrical profile suits both right and left-handed gamers, and even those who utilize a claw grip on their mice.
The G300 also features nine programmable buttons so that you can wire frequently used commands for easier access. You can also store three different profiles in the G300, either for other gamers or to provide yourself with multiple options. Logitech also trumpets the G300's durability, saying it’ll handle at least 10 million clicks — which should let you rack up plenty of frags before you have to retire it. Those clicks are backed by a generous three-year warranty, too.
As the pièce de résistance, Logitech has thrown in illuminated accents on the sides of the mouse and they’re capable of displaying just about any hue you choose.
While the G300 packs a number of the same features as Logitech’s battle-hardened G9, there’s one major difference: the price tags. Where the G9 will run you somewhere in the neighborhood of $80, the G300 is expected to hit the street at around $39.99. You won’t get touches like customizable weights at that price, but you’re still getting plenty of mouse for just two Hamiltons.
