It looks like HP isn’t waiting to long to get rid of TouchPad stock since sales are cropping up with prices starting at $99. The fire sale comes just one day after HP announced that it would stop production of webOS devices. If you want one it might be time to head to the bargain section of your local electronics store or online retailers website.
According to PreCentral HP has requested that retailers cut the price of the discontinued TouchPad to $99 16GB and $149 32GB starting on August 20th. However, Best Buy and Future Shop, two Canadian retailers have already cut their prices. The sale will supposedly last until August 22nd.
A quick check to see if the sale has reached the US turned up nothing at press time since prices at Bestbuy.com and Walmart.com will still $400 16GB and $500 32GB.
Personally we think that we’ll hold our money — saving it for the iPad 3.
